MK1661GSYD - Toshiba 160GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM SATA 3GB/s 2.5-inch Hard Disk Drive

Toshiba adds advanced access security and built-in hardware data encryption features to its high-end line of 2.5-inch, 7,200 RPM Serial ATA storage products with the MKxx61GSYD series hard disk drives. The new self-encrypting drive (SED) provides government-grade AES-256 hardware encryption incorporated in the disk drive's controller electronics. Based on the widely endorsed Opal Security Subsystem Class (Opal SSC) specification from the Trusted Computing Group (TCG), the MKxx61GSYD enables secure and quick deployment of encryption on commercial notebook and shared desktop PCs to protect confidential information.
