The C-GbE Interconnect Switch is one of three network connectivity options available with the ProLiant BL e-Class system. In a typical network, edge switches such as HP Procurve switches1 are used to collect network adapter signals from the servers and concentrate them to the network. Used instead of a pair of edge switches, the C-GbE Interconnect Switch is designed to collect and significantly reduce the number of server blade network signals for direct connection to the network backbone.
